What you need:

  • Marker
  • Ruler
  • Paper Scissor
Jenn's work wasn't perfect, but I'm glad that she tried her best =)

Matching Animals

It's been busy days lately, so I just give Jenn a simple activity, it's inspired from creative moms out there.
The activity requires them to match between the animals in the flashcard and the plastic toys.

You need:
Animal Plastic Toys
Animal Flashcards

You may add some information about the animals, eg: how do they sound, where do they live.

Under the sea

Jenn knows almost all animals, now it's time to tell her about the habitats. I'm gonna start with the sea life since we have crabs, sharks, whales, dolphins, lobsters and seaweeds.

I added a couple drops of food coloring to the water, we are running out of blue, so I used green instead. Jenn take out the animals, tell me what they are before she put them into the water one by one. I put on plastic slabber on Jenn to avoid any splash on her clothes.

Look at how much fun she had!

Learning Alphabet "C"

After doing the letter "A" and "B" activity, here comes the letter "C" activity. "C" is for cat and car. It involves sticking, matching and coloring activity.

What you need:

  • Cardboard
  • Stickers
  • Cotton Balls
  • Glue

I rolled the cotton into balls and dye it with food coloring, took a while to let it dry. Use pom pom balls for another option.

She did pretty well at matching the alphabets, the activity requires to match the letter and color. It's her 1st time using glue and she's so excited about it, not letting go off her hand.

Last activity is to let her color the car with colorful markers. Enjoy!

DIY Train

We have empty milk cartons every two days, can you imagine how many we have?
Instead of throwing it away, we upcycle it into crafts.

Upcycle milk cartons into train is one of the must do craft, it's easy and useful.
Use it to store kids' hair clips, craft accessories, pencil holder or even let them use it as their toy!
This time, we have Lio as Jenn's fave cousin to make the train together.

Materials needed:
  • Milk cartons
  • Thick paper
  • Waterbased paint
  • Cardboard
  • Marker
  • Glue
  • Scissor

Firstly, fully cover the milk carton with thick paper, I used drawing paper which is not easy to tear off. Then cut cardboards into circles as the train's wheels, color it with black marker.

Then let those little hands do their art by using marker or waterbased paint, but please keep an eye on them, they might paint your wall or even try to taste it!
I let them to use colorful markers at the beginning but seems like they're not interested with it, so I let them to use the paint for the rest of it.

Making an edible paint is a good idea, since toddlers like to taste everything new, I'll make one for the next project!

Let the paint dry off, and stick the wheels on both sides.
Jenn couldn't wait for the train, she quickly take out her animals collection and look at that big smile she got on her face!
